Choosing

Choosing

Only if your application is accepted into Rushmoor's Allocation scheme, will you be able to bid for properties. To bid for a property you must tell us that you wish to be considered for it. This is called bidding. You can bid for a maximum of three properties each week. It is important that you only bid on properties you are genuinely interested in.

You can bid:

Properties are advertised from 00.01 Thursday until 23.59  Sunday every week. Some properties may be advertised during two bidding cycles, this typical happens at Christmas and New Year. It does not matter when you bid as long as you bid during the bidding cycle. Properties Currently Available

The advert will display symbols to tell you about the property. The advert may tell you that you are eligible because you meet the property size, however you must read the advert fully as this will tell you if there are any special requirements you must meet, such as age, number of children allowed.

Homeless applicants

If you are owed a homeless duty, the system will maximise your bids. For example, if there are three properties available to bid on, but you only bid on one. They system will place bids on the other two properties. Homeless applicants will only be given one offer of suitable accommodation.

Once the bidding cycle has closed (Midnight on a Sunday) a list (known as a shortlist) of applicants who have placed a bid is generated. The shortlist is in order of the highest band (Band 1 being the highest) and earliest priority date. The applicant at the top of the list and who meets all of the advert and preference criteria and who is therefore at the top of the shortlist will normally be offered the property.

It remains the decision of the Registered Provider, whether to accept you for a property in accordance with its own Lettings Policy.
